FRP REPAIR GUIDES
FRP Repair Guides for Engineers & Owners
Plain answers on FRP, pile, seawall and column repair, including methods, costs and how-tos, from the team that pioneered FRP repair.

What Is FRP? Fiber Reinforced Polymer Explained
FRP (fiber reinforced polymer) is a composite material made of high-strength fibers, usually carbon or glass, embedded in a polymer resin such as epoxy. Thin FRP fabrics, laminates and panels are bonded to beams, columns, walls, piles and pipes to restore or increase their strength without adding significant weight or size.
- typical FRP fabric thickness (1.3 mm)
- 0.05"
- the tensile strength of steel once cured
- 2 to 3×
- FRP is non-metallic, so it does not corrode like steel
- No rust
