DOT engineers, port owners, utilities, designers and contractors describe their QuakeWrap® projects in their own words. Each quote appears as the client wrote it, with the name and title they gave.
MoDOT used PileMedic® to repair 49 corroded steel H-piles on four I-270 bridges in St. Louis. ADOT strengthened girders on two Phoenix highway bridges with QuakeWrap® carbon FRP.
The FRP repairs were completed in just two weeks, improving all 4 bridges to a Satisfactory Condition Rating (NBI rating of 6). All of this was affordable enough to be funded with the region's operations budget and happened on one of the busiest highways in Missouri without causing any delays or distractions to the traveling public.
MCMark Croarkin, PESt. Louis District Bridge Engineer, Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) (co-author, "A Novel Solution for Restoration of Deteriorated Piles", Government Engineering, 2011)
ADOT BRIDGES“
We’re likely to use it again if and when repairs are needed.

PORTS AND MARINE
A Port Engineer on a Broken Jetty Pile
After a vessel struck a jetty dolphin at a busy oil and gas port in Vietnam in 2015, a broken concrete pile was repaired with PileMedic® and FRP rebar instead of driving new piles.
Since the repairs have been completed (now almost five years ago) none of the earlier cracks on the top surface ever returned. So this tells us the repair method is still effective.
JVJasper VerstreepenEngineering Manager, Head of Engineering Department, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh Provinces, Vietnam (Pile Buck, Vol. 36 No. 3, 2020)
PORT JETTY PILES“
The advantage was that the broken pile could be repaired and reinstated up to the required bearing capacity and strength value, and no additional piles needed to be installed. This reduced cost and timing in repair method.

UTILITIES, TUNNELS AND PIPES
Utilities and Pipeline Owners on Repairs Without Replacement
Utility tunnels, stormwater tunnels, gas mains, penstocks and culverts repaired from the inside with QuakeWrap®, PipeMedic® and StifPipe® systems.
Fixing the tunnel from the inside with QuakeWrap not only saves us money but is minimally invasive to our busy campus. We think it's a green solution, too…
PDMr. Peter DourleinAssistant Vice President for Planning, Design and Construction at the University of Arizona
STORM TUNNEL“
FRP Construction entered the tunnel and successfully installed the FRP product per QuakeWrap’s design to restore the strength of the weakened area of the tunnel as well as a permanent water cutoff solution. QuakeWrap personnel were quick, efficient, and communicative, during the entire process and completed the repair in a timely manner. We are very pleased with the end result and their performance.
To replace this pipeline because of where it is and how it traveled would be an astronomical cost. Rehabilitation (using PipeMedic) was the only course of action.
QuakeWrap provided an innovative, multi-purpose FRP liner design that not only targeted the leak problems, but also provided additional structural strengthening to account for steel reinforcement loss due to future corrosion damage, as well as an efficient crack control system, which increased the life cycle of the penstock.
WRWalter RetanaProject Manager, Ghella Costa Rica
STIFPIPE®“
Our installation of the QuakeWrap pipe (StifPipe®) went very smoothly. We were very pleased with it and hope to install more in the future.
I would like to thank your exemplary employees, as they championed this project from start to finish with enthusiasm unknown to most construction work. The traits shown by these men are refreshing in this day and age.
RBRyan BagshawInspector, Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities (letter to FRP Construction, March 1, 2017)
OWNERS, DESIGNERS AND CONTRACTORS
Owners, Architects and Engineers on Working With QuakeWrap®
From a mine's dust scrubber to the historic Fox Tucson Theatre, owners and design professionals on the product and the support behind it.
Replacing the liner (of an inside area of a dust control scrubber) with the QuakeWrap product has performed beyond my expectations. The dust scrubber has not had any corrosion issues and no leakage of water. I also examined the outside of the scrubber cabinet and observed no perforations what so ever. Another QuakeWrap application was on a roofing job, using the product to patch holes and cracks between the roof and vents. Since the application, we’ve witnessed no leaks. In addition to the positive results of the product, the (FRP Construction) crew was professional, with strict adherences to our safety requirements, as well as their own. Thanks for a very professional experience.
Our client American Battle Monuments Commission and our firm are very pleased with the entire QuakeWrap experience. The product itself is an excellent way to rejuvenate aging structures, and the company was with us every step of the way. As a lead design professional, I will not hesitate to specify QuakeWrap again in the future.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION“
Your structural engineering services were second to none in terms of cost efficiency and constructability… QuakeWrap has done a top-notch job on a challenging project. Your efforts have exceeded expectations per the drawings and the tight budget. The level of quality demonstrated in your craftmanship has not gone unrecognized here.
SMSteven Mitchell, AIAProject Manager, Historic Fox Tucson Theater Renovation, Concord General Contracting, Tucson, AZ
SLABS“
When we work with QuakeWrap, we typically come up with a demand -"this slab needs this" – and they come up with a design to meet that demand. They continually improve their products and solve problems.
VBVic Beizai, P.E.Principal, Trencode Enterprises, Glendale, CA
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER“
Mo Ehsani and QuakeWrap were instrumental in finding an economical and robust structural solution to our project. This strengthening technique and QuakeWrap's involvement saved the project.
MLMark Larsen, P.E.Principal, Paragon Structural Design, Inc., Phoenix, AZ
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER“
The product speaks for itself from an engineering point of view. It was very successful.
BBBesim Bilman, S.E.Bilman & Bilman Structural Engineering, Pasadena, CA
OCCUPIED FACILITY“
I am preparing a proposal for another project, and I am including reference to the added value that we can provide with QuakeWrap – no smell! Smell is a huge factor when working in an occupied facility.
MBMatt BoyceProject Manager, Tarlton Corporation, St Louis, MO
ARCHITECT“
Architecturally, this product is very unobtrusive. It doesn't interfere with the looks of anything you apply it to.
