FROM THE PILEMEDIC® SPECIFICATION
Nominal PileMedic® Jacket Values
Nominal confining pressure and longitudinal steel equivalent for a 2-ply PileMedic® jacket, from the generic specification dated December 1, 2015. Steel equivalent is Grade 60 bars spaced around the pile perimeter. Check values against the current product data sheet before design.
| Pile diameter | Glass: confining pressure | Glass: steel equivalent | Carbon: confining pressure | Carbon: steel equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 in. | 645 psi | #4 at 3 in. | 1,050 psi | #4 at 3 in. |

FILL MATERIAL
Choosing the Fill for a PileMedic® Jacket
The generic specification offers three fill options, chosen by the width of the annular space between the pile and the jacket and the condition of the pile.
| Fill | Annular space | When to use it | Structural note |
|---|---|---|---|
| QuakeBond™ 320LV low-viscosity resin | Under ¼ in. | Circular piles that are cracked or decayed, so resin fills the voids | Bonds the jacket and added bars to the pile for flexure |
| PileMedic® UW epoxy grout | ¼ in. to 1 in. | Wider annulus; about 180 to 225 lb of silica per 5 gal of epoxy | Same structural benefit as low-viscosity resin |
| PileMedic® UW underwater grout | Over 1.5 in. | Large annular space | Bond to the jacket is conservatively ignored for flexure |

GROUT AND FORMS
Grout & Form-A-Tube® Specifications
The grout section covers concrete and grout placed with QuakeWrap® systems, including PileMedic®, SPiRe® and StifPipe®. The Form-A-Tube® installation specification covers the reusable PVC form for pile encapsulation.
ABOUT FORM-A-TUBE®[Content needed] PipeMedic® and QuakeWrap® fabric specifications
No published guide specification exists for StifPipe®, SuperLaminate™, InfinitPipe®, PipeMedic® wet layup pipe lining or QuakeWrap® wet and dry layup fabrics. None is in the quakewrap.com, pilemedic.com or pipemedic.com media libraries (checked 10/21/2026) or in Wayback captures of the three sites. In 2009 pipemedic.com listed a "PipeMedic™ specifications" Word and PDF file, but neither was archived and both links are dead. QuakeWrap must supply these specifications, or confirm they stay available on request. QuakeWrap must also confirm whether the Installation Instructions QW/II-2020, Quality Control Plan QW_QCP and Design Manual Version 1.0_1 cited in IAPMO UES ER-828 can be shared with engineers.

WARRANTY
What the Product Warranties Cover
SPiRe®+ panel system: the specification calls for a two-year material warranty against defects. Extended material warranties may be available from the manufacturer for an added fee and may require periodic site inspection or maintenance. The contractor provides a one-year warranty on installation labor. Cosmetic defects, impact damage and loads well above normal operation are excluded, and repairs or changes to the products by others void the warranty.
QuakeWrap® fabrics, QuakeBond™ resins, PileMedic® laminates, StifPipe® and SPiRe®+ panels: each current product data sheet carries the same warranty. QuakeWrap, Inc. warrants the product for one year from the date of installation to be free from manufacturing defects and to meet the properties on the current data sheet, when used as directed within its shelf life. The user decides whether the product suits the intended use. The remedy is limited to the purchase price or replacement of the product, not labor. [Confirm with QuakeWrap: the SPiRe®+ specification (v1, 11/23) calls for a two-year material warranty, while the June 2026 SPiRe®+ data sheet states one year. Say which governs.]
- Data sheets: one-year product warranty
- SPiRe®+ specification: two-year material warranty
- Contractor: one-year labor warranty

Specification Questions
Can I edit the specifications?

Which specification covers the grout inside a jacket?
Section 03 30 12 covers cementitious grout, epoxy grout and cellular concrete placed with PileMedic®, SPiRe® and StifPipe® systems and other FRP jackets. The PileMedic® specification explains when to use low-viscosity resin, epoxy grout or underwater grout.
What if I don't see a specification for my product?
Ask for it. Our team will recommend the right QuakeWrap® system and send the specifications and details your engineer needs.
What warranty comes with QuakeWrap® products?
The SPiRe®+ specification calls for a two-year material warranty and a one-year contractor labor warranty. Ask for the current warranty terms for other products with your specification package.
