Military

Military bases are similar to cities that require all levels of infrastructure construction and maintenance. In many cases, these maybe a part of a deployment effort where it is necessary to have systems that can be shipped for quick mobilization and assembled onsite – preferably with minimal skills. Unique features of FRP such as fast installation, durability and long service life of these non-corroding materials, light weight that allows fast shipment are major attributes of FRP for repair and renovation of military facilities and compounds.

Among the various applications where QuakeWrap® FRP products can be useful to the maintenance of military bases and facilities are:

  • Repair and strengthening of corrosion-damaged structural components, e.g. beams, floors, columns, walls, etc.
  • Strengthening of structural elements such as beams, floors, columns, walls, etc. to carry larger loads
  • Repair of tanks and reservoirs for both water and wastewater systems
  • Force protection and blast proofing of buildings, offices, barracks, etc.
  • Repair of waterfront structures such as docks, ports, piers, submerged piles, seawalls, sheet piles, etc. using PileMedic® and SPiRe®
  • Seismic upgrade of office buildings and critical facilities such as medical centers and hospitals to ensure their resiliency following a major earthquake
  • Repair of pipelines (external and internal) by PipeMedic®, StifPipe®, etc.
  • In most cases, QuakeWrap engineers can provide a complete "turnkey" design-build solution that includes sealed engineering drawings by our in-house engineers, all of the materials needed, and installation by one of our approved and certified installers. This unique turnkey design-build approach results in significant efficiency, time and cost-savings, and minimizes the potential errors and delays that can result when multiple groups are involved in one project.

QuakeWrap® also welcomes the opportunity to partner with owners, architects, engineers and contractors by providing any single aspect of the project, i.e., design, materials, or installation for a specific project.
