How PileMedic® Is Manufactured

PileMedic® laminates are produced in our manufacturing facility using advanced composite fabrication techniques. High-quality glass or carbon fiber fabrics are saturated with vinylester resin and then subjected to controlled heat and pressure to create dense, durable laminates with exceptional mechanical properties.

The resulting laminates are very thin—typically ranging from 0.8 mm to 1.7 mm (0.030.07 in.) —yet deliver outstanding strength and durability. They are manufactured in continuous rolls up to 9 feet (2.7 m) wide and hundreds of feet long. For ease of handling in the field, the most commonly supplied width is 4 feet (1.2 m).

Each laminate is finished with a factory-applied protective gel coat, making PileMedic® the only pile repair system on the market with this feature as a standard. This gel coat provides enhanced resistance to UV exposure and environmental degradation, helping extend the service life of the system—especially in harsh marine and coastal environments.

This roll-based format allows a single roll to be used to repair piles and columns of virtually any shape or size, eliminating the limitations of prefabricated jacket systems and enabling rapid, adaptable installation in the field.

Durability & Long-Term Performance

PileMedic® is engineered for long-term durability in some of the harshest environments, including marine and coastal conditions. The combination of non-corrosive FRP materials and a factory-applied UV-resistant gel coat creates a highly resilient barrier against moisture, oxygen, and environmental exposure.

Unlike conventional systems that degrade over time due to corrosion, UV damage, or joint failures, PileMedic® maintains its structural integrity and protective performance for decades. The seamless design eliminates common pathways for deterioration, while the gel coat provides an added layer of protection against sunlight and weathering.

The result is a low-maintenance, long-service-life solution that reduces lifecycle costs and ensures reliable performance over time.
