Dear Colleague,

Most of you may be familiar with the much-publicized use of Fiber Composite Polymers (FRP) in seismic upgrade of concrete columns. In these quarterly bulletins, it is our intention to introduce you to numerous other applications where FRPs provide unique solutions to repair and retrofit of structures.

This issue of QuakeWrap e-Bulletin features the strengthening of the glulam beams in a high-school gymnasium for increased live load capacity. The project has received the 2004 Award for Outstanding Retrofit Project by the Structural Engineers Association of Arizona.
